First a chef, then a blender in whisky distilleries in Scotland, now successful in the vineyards: Stephan Herter is a winemaker with vision, firm conviction and clear positions. His wines are full of purity and life from nature. The experts are full of praise and the press is constantly coming up with new titles. We let the wine enthusiast from Taggenberg speak for himself and explain his motivation and his attitude towards biodiversity, sustainability and quality.
HerterWein works with the goal of a living soil and for vines that are healthy and learn to make their own decisions again. Pesticides such as chemical fungicides or herbicides are deliberately avoided; the natural environment should benefit all living creatures in the vines and create a sustainable home for flora and fauna. This approach makes it possible to offer vibrant, healthy wines and spirits, the quality of which everyone involved is convinced of.
